Looking back on 2009, I remember many challenges. Thinking of those challenges, I am also reminded of the many blessings of 2009. Luci had her first birthday, Matthew and I were married (finally!), and we purchased our first home. With that being said, I decided that this year, I would make meaningful “New Year’s Resolutions”…in other words goals for 2010.
Now, if you you know me, you know I am a list person. I make lists. Multiple lists. For everything. And if you make it on my list, I will check you off. I always stick to my lists. I always accomplish my lists. Some call me crazy (my husband *cough*), but I call me organized. So….I made a list of my goals for 2010. The list was revised several times (the original one actually was crazy…Superman would not have been able to accomplish this list in 365 short days) and now I am ready to share it with you.
1. Have more patience (especially with my husband)
2. Read more…and from new authors (branch out…big step)
3. Learn new cooking/baking recipes and perfect them
4. Make more (crafting and sewing)
5. Finish renovating our home
6. Go on a fantastic family vacation
7. Start a blog (which has now been checked off)
Ok…there you have it. My New Year’s Resolutions for 2010.
I had my students look up the word ‘resolution’ in the dictionary.
resolution- a decision to do something or to behave in a certain manner
Some of the resolutions they came up with based on this definition made me smile.
“I will bake more cookies with my mom” –boy, 8 years old (AWWWWW)
“I will play more video games” –boy, 8 years old (His mother responded with “That is the stupidest resolution I’ve ever heard!” LOL!)
“I will get faster at my multiplication facts” –girl, 8 years old (LOVE her!)
“I will be nicer to my little brother” — boy, 9 years old (so sweet)
What are some of your resolutions for 2010?
