Crockpot Mac-n-Cheese {recipe}

After visiting a friend’s blog and drooling over her homemade baked mac-n-cheese, I decide it was about time I made homemade mac-n-cheese.  How have I NOT made this yet??? And besides pizza and cookies, I am pretty sure L would live off this stuff.

So off I go, recipe hunting. I decided that I wanted to try it in the crockpot (I’m obviously a HUGE fan of my crockpot…we’re pretty much like BFFs) and found a recipe here. Of course I adapted it, using some of Family Q’s ingredients and some of my own.

This is what I did and it turned out DELICIOUS!!! (And super easy.)

What you need:
-crockpot
-cooking spray
-1 tbsp salad oil
-box of macaroni
-1/2 cup of butter
-1 can condensed milk
-1 1/2 cups milk
-3 cups sharp cheddar cheese
-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
-1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
-1/2 cup bread crumbs (I used Italian bread crumbs)
-1 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:
-cook macaroni in boiling water on stove top
-spray inside of crockpot with cooking spray
-toss macaroni and salad oil together in crockpot
-add all other ingredients EXCEPT bread crumbs and about 1/2 cup of the sharp cheddar cheese
-cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally
-about 30 min before you serve, sprinkle bread crumbs and remaining cheese on top

*Goes great with garlic bread!*

Yummmmmmmmmmm…..Enjoy!!

(By the way, Family Q has a TON of delicious recipes. Head over and check them out!)

  1. This looks so yummy! Did you use sweetened condensed milk or evaporated milk? I put sugar in mine so I’m thinking the sweetened condensed but just wanted to make sure…I love my crockpot and want to try this!

  2. Yum that looks SO good…it’s so funny how we have so much in common EXCEPT for our view on crock pots…I HATE crock pots!!! LOL I don’t know why, but in the 4 years that I have had mine, I think I have only used it once, maybe twice and even then I was close to using a roaster! Maybe after seeing all of your creations, I will start to use mine more! :)

  3. this looks delicious. and i absolutely love my crockpot, but it is so old it doesn’t have a timer. it’s just on or off, and lo med or high. so until i have one with a timer, i can’t make this. unless on the weekend…hmm, an idea!
