Today’s recipe comes straight from the Mr. at Mine for the Making. He used to be an executive chef, sous chef, and has been cooking and baking since he was a little boy. His grandmother taught him how to decorate cakes (he made our wedding cake); he experimented in the kitchen with all kinds of food when babysitting his younger brother and sister (who is also a baker now, find her here), using them as taste-testers (sign me up!); and he started cooking in restaurants as early as 17 years old. By 24 years old, the Mr. was head of the over-night cooking staff at the Ritz Carlton (where he won an award) and by 26 he was the executive chef of a restaurant. All this without culinary schooling….it’s a gift, my friends. And he has many (he is literally remodeling our entire house from floors to ceiling). Okay, done bragging and onto today’s Food-a-licious recipe :)
-take a pinch of spinach and sprinkle on top
-wrap a piece of bacon around the roll
Edited to add: Our cousin saw a picture of this plate and asked my husband why he ate 3 cupcakes and a rice crispy treat for dinner. LOL! I never really noticed until he said something…but now I can totally see the resemblance of a dessert plate. Too funny…just thought I’d share in case anyone else was under the same impression….
