My sweet girl started dance class last week with her little friend.
They totally ♥ it.
And their mommas are taking FULL advantage of that.
So we made dance totes for our lil’ dancers.
Here is Luci’s tote that I embellished for her.
-black tote (Hobby Lobby $2.99 @ 50% off = $1.50)
-ballet ribbon (JoAnn $2.99)
-dark pink, light pink, black w/ white polka dots ribbon (from my stash)
-pink embroidery thread and needle (from my stash)
– iron on patches (JoAnn $1.99 each)
For the most part, this was a pretty simple project. I cut ribbon and tied it around the handles of the tote.
I ironed on the patches, which by the way did NOT adhere well. I ended up using a little fabric glue and they were good to go.
The biggest challenge, for me, was the hand stitched name. I wrote out Luci’s name with a pencil and then stitched over it with the embroidery thread.
This was my first attempt at this…and I managed to make it look good by the 3rd letter : ) Don’t you love the ♥ above the i?
My lil’ dancer and her tote…
She makes me smile : )
PS- Pay no attention to our non-existent baseboards. Home renovations are at a halt until we finish our bakery/cafe’ renovations.
