I was compensated for materials to use to create a project, but all opinions and ideas are 100% my own.
Hello there friends and Happy Sunday!
Typically I don’t post on the blog on Sundays, but I just could not resist…and you won’t be able to either! I am super excited to share the project I have been working on over the past week (while taking care of my sick kiddo). Before I can show off the Patriotic Chalkboard Pallet Art I created, I need to let you in on something SUPER fun…
Exciting news! I have teamed up with Coupons.com and 14 other creative DIY and craft bloggers to bring you a $200 e-card giveaway good to either Jo-Ann or Home Depot. You choose!
Coupons.com offers a wide selection of digital coupons for both companies and brands. They are the largest provider of digital coupons on the web! Including coupons for Home Depot as well as Jo-Ann coupon codes.
As part of the giveaway, we were each given a $50 e-card to either Jo-Ann or Home Depot and asked to use it to create a DIY 4th of July project. Here is what I came up with!
I chose a Home Depot gift card (such a hard choice!) and bought wood, screws, white spray paint, chalkboard spray paint, a paint brush, and snagged 6 red/blue paint swatches. After putting together (cutting, sanding, screwing) my pallet, I primed the wood, allowed it to dry, and added a couple of coats of white semi-gloss spray paint (Rustoleum).
While it dried, I designed and cut the United States stencil and the “There ain’t no doubt I ♥ this land.” quote stencil on my Silhouette SD. After applying the stencils (using transfer tape), I sponge painted to quote blue and red and painted the inside of the United States stencil with the chalkboard paint.
While everything dried, I made bunting to hang at the top of the pallet art using the paint swatches and baker’s twine. Once the chalkboard paint was dry, I rubbed chalk all over the surface to “seal” it. And finally, I drew a star over Arizona where we live.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the other 14 bloggers’ patriotic 4th of July projects for awesome inspiration! And thanks to Coupons.com for sponsoring such a great giveaway!
