Hi there! I have another fun Halloween project to share with you today!
I needed a new Halloween wreath for my front door this year and after a few days of brainstorming, I came up with the perfect idea! I picked out some pretty Halloween fabric at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores and couldn’t wait to get started on my Front Door Halloween Hoop Art!
Are you as in love with hoop art as I am? It’s such a fun and easy way to decorate…I have several “hoop art walls” in my home. I thought creating one for the front door would be so fun!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
1/2 yd of Halloween fabric
1/4 yr of a complementing Halloween fabric
Iron on glitter vinyl
12 inch hoop
Hot glue gun and sticks
*I bought all of my crafting supplies at JoAnn.
First you want to take the outer hoop off of the embroidery hoop. Cut the 1/4 yd of fabric in 2 inch wide strips. Wrap the outer hoop with the strips of fabric, overlapping a bit so the hoop doesn’t peek out. I left the ends long at the top of the hoop so I can tie it in a bow later.
Using your 1/2 yd fabric, stretch and cover the inner embroider hoop and slip the outer embroidery hoop over the top. Tighten the outer embroidery hoop and make sure all the fabric is pulled tight.
Hot glue the fabric around the inside of the hoop to secure. Trim off excess fabric carefully with scissors.
Cut out the word “BOO” from your iron on vinyl (be sure to read the directions to your iron on vinyl). I used my Silhouette cutting machine for this but you could easily trace or free hand the word and cut it out.
Following the directions on your vinyl, iron “BOO” onto the center of your hoop.
Tie the pieces of fabric at the top of your hoop into a bow.
Add any other embellishments you want.
Hang your hoop art on your front door!
I love the combination of polka dots, plaid, and glitter! I think it all works so well together.
Cute and simple, right? I created this Front Door Halloween Hoop Art as part of the JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores #spookyspaces Halloween challenge. Check out the Creativity Made Simple section of their site for more inspiration! And I even have a COUPON to share with you! Just right click and print it off before November 1st!
JoAnn provided me with a gift card to purchase supplies for this project, but all ideas and opinions are 100% my own.
