Hello there and welcome to Teach Me Tuesday, formerly known as Tot School Tuesday.
I am so happy you are here and I am excited to share a fun and educational fall/Halloween activity for your kiddos! The amount of assistance needed will depend on your child’s age and developmental stage. I will give you a few examples below, but first, let’s check out the Pumpkin Writing Prompt!
Cute right? All you need to do is download it to your computer HERE and print it out for your child(ren).
With my 5 year old, I read her the writing prompt and explained that she needed to draw a picture first to help her gather ideas. Then once she was finished with her picture, I had her describe the pumpkin and tell what she was going to do with it while I scripted it for her.
If your children are reading and writing on their own, by all means allow them to! If your child is just starting out, have them do the best they can writing a sentence or two about their pumpkin picture. If your child does better writing before drawing, that works too.
