Hello and HAPPY Friday, y’all!
I was hoping to get this easy tutorial posted yesterday but just couldn’t find the time. And would you believe I made this project LAST Christmas?! So this post is waaaaaaay overdue. Are you ready to make some Wooden Chalkboard Gift Tags?
I love that they are a little gift in themselves… the recipient of the gift can totally reuse the gift tag!
Here’s what you need:
- wooden tags (Michael’s)
- Chalkboard paint
- Baker’s twine (Target dollar spot)
- Sponge brush
- Chalk or chalk pen
Lay out some newspaper and paint your wooden tags with the chalkboard paint. Allow dry time and then paint the other side of the tags also. I put 2 coats of paint on each side. After 24 hours of dry time, color both sides of the chalkboard gift tags with chalk and then wipe clean…this will ‘cure’ the chalkboard paint. Add baker’s twine and a chalk name and there you have it! Your Wooden Chalkboard Tags are complete.
Do you have any fun gift wrapping tips or tricks up your sleeve? I love to attach an ornament to gifts and even cute pine cones painted with snow paint or glitter :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and don’t forget to check out the Dinner Kit Gift idea I posted about the other day! It’s the perfect gift for neighbors, teachers, friends…and I even attached one of these cute Wooden Chalkboard Gift Tags to it!
