We wanted to celebrate a start to another homeschool year, and what better way to celebrate than with a party! Parties don’t have to cost a lot of money and they don’t have to take a bunch of time to organize. One of my favorite things to do is get the kids involved in the planning and party making. Enter in our Simple Desert Party!
We decided on a small budget and that we wanted the party to be bright and happy and desert themed since we live in the Arizona.
We shopped around the house in supplies we already had and went to our local dollar store for a couple of plastic table cloths and a package of balloons. My daughter insisted that every good party has food… and she opted to bake cupcakes.
Using paper I had on hand, twine, toothpicks, hot glue, and my awesome Prizm Die Cutting & Embossing Machine to make the adorable decorations.
They were all so easy and fun to make! I used my Prizm to cut out and emboss the potted cacti and then used two sided tape to attach them to the banner pieces.
Aren’t they so pretty?! I just love them.
Next, we glued some of the paper potted cacti (say that 10 times fast) to toothpicks to make toppers for our yummy cupcakes. And they couldn’t have turned out any cuter!
We loved planning and decorating for our Simple Desert Party! It was easy thanks to my Prizm machine and stock of leftover party supplies!
Not only is it super easy to use, there’s a ton of dies to pick from and it’s small for easy storage. You can check out the DIY Adventure Frame we made using the Prizm HERE.
There you have it! Aren’t those cactus balloons fun?! Thanks for stopping by today, makers! Remember that you can create a fun celebration using what you have and adding a few cute details… doesn’t have to be hard or overdone or cost a lot!
How do you celebrate the start of a new school year?
