Hello friends and fellow Star Wars fans! Have you seen the newest movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, yet? Our family saw it opening weekend and loved it! Especially all the Chewbaca parts. My daughter requested a special shirt for the occasion (she is always the most excited to see the new Star Wars movies and can tell you the entire story line and all of characters), so as any crafty mom would, I happily obliged. Here is how our DIY Chewie Shirt turned out…
She loves the way it turned out and so do I! Because it was so last minute, I had her grab a plain shirt out of her dresser and I grabbed some of my Expressions gold HTV scraps and quickly designed a cut file with my Silhouette Cameo. Because I am a font junkie, I already had 2 fonts in mind (one being the Star Wars font) for the design, so it literally took me 10 minutes to design, cut, and weed the image thanks to my favorite crafting tool ever.
Once the HTV was ready (don’t forget to reverse the image before cutting!), I placed it on her shirt and pressed it with a hot iron. This took about 2-5 minutes and it was finished. SUPER quick and easy. DONE!
Such a fun shirt using materials I had on hand, therefore I could do it last minute right before our movie. 15 minutes was all I needed. If you’d like to make one using my design, you can for free by clicking here to download.
I’m telling you friends, if you are on the edge about purchasing a Silhouette Cameo, I’m here to tip you over! Just do it! I use mine almost daily, definitely weekly. You can see more of my Silhouette projects HERE.
And if you haven’t seen Solo yet, GO! It’s a great summer movie for the family.
