Hello friends! Today I am hosting Craft Lighting, where I share a craft based on a theme that can be made in 15 minutes or less. This week’s theme is hot glue and I’m going to be showing you how to easily make this wooden family travel map using hot glue to decorate.
Wooden Family Travel Map How-To
Did you know you can use hot glue to decorate? Yep! Hot glue comes in a variety of colors and for various purposes. You don’t always have to use it to adhere things together, though that’s great too! But for today’s craft, I am using a wooden cut out of the United States (DIY this or pick one up at your local craft store), a hot glue gun, and red glitter glue sticks.
Our family loves to travel and vacation together, so I thought it would be fun to document the states we’ve traveled to as a family. I pulled up a map on my phone (pardon my cracked screen!) and went to work plotting out red glitter hot glue hearts. Such a fun way to display family travels!
It turned out so cute and was so fun to reminisce about all of the fun places we’ve been to and the memories we’ve made. Plus, this craft was easy-peasy and made in less than 15 minutes. I can’t wait to add more hearts to our map! Does your family love to travel together too? This would be a fun way to document your travels too!
Hot Glue Hacks and Crafts Book
Do you love how quick and simple this craft was? My friends Carolina and Angie wrote a new book full of Hot Glue Hacks and Crafts I know you’ll love! Included are lots of creative ways to use hot glue. And guess what… I even have a fun kids’ craft featured in the book! Pretty cool, right? *Click here to get your copy on Amazon.
And because we really just can’t get enough, check out the creative hot glue crafts some of my friends made that are linked below. Just click on the pictures and it will take you to the instructions.
This is a great idea Kara! Thanks for joining!
