Marvel Optics Glasses

Recently my daughter and I had our yearly eye exam and were told we needed new prescription glasses. After looking at the frames in the waiting room, I quickly ruled out the over priced glasses. They just weren’t in our budget… especially not two pairs. I decided on Marvel Optics glasses after looking through their affordable prices and the convenience of online shopping and ordering on their site.

Once we both decided on a style of frames we liked, we emailed a copy of our prescriptions and placed order. That easy.

They arrived on our door step several days later in cases and with little lens wipes. They fit great, the prescriptions are correct, and we couldn’t be happier with the convenience and service.

My daughter loves her pink ‘reading’ glasses with Mickey on the arms. I think they make her look older! Not sure how I feel about that one… LOL!

This post is a review based on my experiences with Marvel Optics. I was provided glasses to share my opinions, which are 100% my own. I only share products I think my readers will love too!

Dear 5 year old Luci…

Dear 5 year old Luci…

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was holding you for the first time.

It feels like just yesterday you were so tiny.

I hold those memories and precious moments of you being teeny tiny in my heart. Such a sweet baby girl you were. So smart, strong, alert, healthy, and happy. And although I wish I could keep you tiny, you are growing into a beautiful big girl.

It gives me so much joy to watch you learn and grow, my Lucianna.

I am so blessed to spend all my days with you.

You love to be silly, laugh, smile, and play. You are independent, stubborn, and sassy. You LOVE your family and you adore your friends. You especially love to play with your cousins and take care of baby Layden. More than anything you want to be a big sister and you pray for a baby brother and a sister every.single.day.

You have Jesus in your heart and love to attend church with your church friends.

Your favorite colors are pink, purple, and red. You love to watch movies, especially Disney movies.

You love to wear sunglasses and “Bunny” is your favorite toy.

You love your pets, Brudy and Daisy, and you do such a great job helping take care of them.

Your most favorite things to do are sing and dance…and your favorite Disney princess is Aurora.

You take cooking classes, gymnastics, we visit the library weekly, and we have play dates with your best friends on a regular basis.

You are doing homeschool with your momma and you LOVE to learn. You’re a perfectionist just like your mommy and daddy. You can write all your letters, you know their names and sounds, you can count to twenty forwards and backwards and you can count to 10 in Spanish, you can use scissors very well, you color in the lines, and you are starting to learn how to read. Your gross and fine motor skills are extraordinary and you learned how to ride a bike in the matter of 2 days (good thing Santa brought you the bike you asked for!). You know all your shapes and how to describe them, you are learning how to say color words in Spanish and we have even started working on spelling (sight) words!

You are creative and musical…I often tell people it’s as if we live in a musical having you around.

Luci, you bring so much JOY to our family and everyone around you.

You are such a blessing to us!

I love you to the moon and back, Lucianna Dene’.

Thank you for choosing me to be your mommy.

It is the greatest gift, to be your mommy, and I thank Heavenly Father everyday for giving me you.

Love,

Your mommy

My Little Gymnast

I have to share the cutest little gymnast there ever was…
My girl started gymnastics a few weeks ago and she is IN LOVE.
The kinda love that makes her ask me everyday if it’s time to go back to Miss Katie’s for gym.
Cart wheels, balance beams, donkey kicks, split rolls, tuck jumps…oh my!
Best parts?
I get to take her every week.
Miss Katie’s in home set up is amazing.
Miss Katie is amazing.
My girl is in class with not one but two of her best buddies.
Luci has found something she really loves to do.
I love being a momma to this girl!

Momma to a Preschooler

It’s official…
I am a momma to a preschooler.
{First Day print @ Nest of Posies}

And not just any preschooler…a super CUTE preschooler with her very own princess lunchbox.
This is a big deal people. The preschool part is a big deal to me…but the lunchbox part is a milestone my Luci did NOT want me to forget.
“Mom I love doing school with you at home, but there’s just one thing I’m sad about. The kids who go to school get their own lunchboxes.”
So a lunchbox of her own she now has.
Luci also just received her first award for completing a session of cooking classes. Proud moment for us (as she comes from a family of bakers, chefs, and caterers).
I am so happy to be homeschooling our girl. I have LOTS of fun things planned for us this school year.
Here are a few things we’ve been doing lately and a couple of frugal teaching tips too…

Most of the materials I use to homeschool my daughter I make, find on pinterest, or purchase from the Dollar Store, Target dollar spot, or Amazon.

These activities are fun to do with your preschooler even if you are not homeschooling. They are just educational, hands-on ways for kiddlets to learn. My daughter refers to most of her Busy Bags and folder activities as “school games.”
Having fun while learning? I’ll take it!

Tiny Dancer {printable}

Happy Monday!
It’s the start to a new and busy week!
Things I’m looking forward to this week: new homeschool activities and lessons to try out with Luci, our first field trip of the school year, the 2nd Craft Class (taught in my home), new shop products (fingers crossed), baking cupcakes with my preschool cooking class, and family date night!
What are you looking forward to this week?
If we’re friends on Instagram, you know I am still working on my daughter’s big girl room makeover. This past week I worked on art to decorate her room with. Today I want to share the Tiny Dancer print I made to sit inside a pretty frame on Luci’s new (to us) restored dresser (coming up in a later post).

My daughter LOVES to dance and she LOVES music.
And if you know anything at all about me, you know that she is my mini. So this print was fun for me to make for her. I took a stroll down memory lane and choose words and phrases that related to dance and made pretty subway art with them.

Today I am sharing the print with you, friends! This would be a great gift to give at the next dance recital you attend, or for a little girl’s birthday, or even in your own daughter’s bedroom.
Don’t you just LOVE the frame? Good ol’ Hobby Lobby for the win!

Click HERE to download the print.
The print is an 8×10 but can be resized smaller (the one pictured in the frame is a 5×7). For personal use only and please link back to MFTM if you decide to share it with others.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you have a wonderful week.
