Mermaid Inspired Dolly and Me Necklaces

Hello there Makers! Today I’m sharing a fun craft for those girly girls out there. My daughter is all about her dolls right now, so we often plan crafts around them… especially when we are cooped up inside due to triple digit summer weather. She loved helping me make these Mermaid Inspired Dolly and Me Necklaces!

We ordered all of our supplies from from Fizzy Pops and they showed up right on our door step. That means we didn’t even have to go out into the heat to shop for our supplies… SCORE!!

The great thing about this online shop is that there’s also a blog connected to the site loaded with tutorials on fun crafts and projects to make using their materials and products. I was able to watch a video tutorial and read through a photo tutorial to make these gorgeous necklaces.

Don’t you just LOVE the colors… they remind me of mermaid secrets and underwater treasures.

For the dolly necklace, I chose the same color beads as my daughter’s, but stuck with smaller size. She LOVES that her and her doll have matching summer necklaces. They even wore them out to dinner the other night. So cute.

We want to share the love with our friends, so how about a giveaway for a Fizzy Pops Necklace Kit!! And guess what… there’s two kits to give away which means I will randomly pick two winners!

Teach Me Tuesday: Easy Pom Pom Rings

Hello there and welcome to Teach Me Tuesday, where I share all things kid-friendly. Everything from learning activities to arts and crafts to experiments and food.

TeachME Tuesdays Button - Kara

Today I am sharing a fun and easy craft that my 5 year old and I made the other day using pom poms and pipe cleaners (from CraftProjectIdeas.com) during our craft time. How fun are these Easy Pom Pom Rings?! It was a simple, mess-free craft that my daughter was able to do almost all on her own and if she was a bit older to man the hot glue gun on her own, she would have. But since we love crafting together, it was fun for both of us.

pompomrings2

Cute right? And tons of color combos and the pom poms come in a variety of sizes.

Here’s what you will need to make your own:

  • Small pom poms
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue

  pompomrings3

Simply wrap a pipe cleaner around a finger and twist into a ring. Trip off the extra pipe cleaner with scissors. Pick out a pom pom and hot glue it to the top of the ring. We glued our pom poms on the pipe cleaner where we twisted it together, to kind of hide that area.

After we were finished making about a dozen rings, my daughter set up a jewelry shop to sell her fine jewels *wink.*

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Let me know if you and the kiddos make Easy Pom Pom Rings!

With Christmas around the corner, I thought I’d share the Easy Hello Kitty Necklace I made my daughter plus 9 more Hello Kitty Crafts, all of which would make great handmade gifts for those little girls in your life.

Good morning and Happy Monday!

I have a fun and easy jewelry tutorial for you today. Pretty much if you know how to use glue, you can make these adorable Heart Earrings. What says Valentine’s more than hearts and jewelry? Okay maybe chocolate and flowers, but you get the idea *winks*
Supplies:
E6000 heavy duty glue
Earring posts & backs
How-To:
Flip the hearts over, face down.
Apply a small amount of your heavy duty glue to the back of the earring post.
Gently push the earring post onto the back of the resin heart.
Repeat the process with all of your resin hearts.
Allow 24 hours for dry time.
Add the earrings to a cute tag or piece of card stock and then add on the backs to the earrings.
And that’s IT!
Can you even handle the easiness and cuteness??

Prima Bead Jewelry

Hi friends!
As you might have gathered, I’m an accessories kind of girl. So when Prima Bead asked me to try out one of their jewelry kits, I couldn’t help but say YES.
Here is the kit that Prima Bead sent me…
You can find it HERE.
Not only do I love this kit, but do you see all of the jewelry you get for only $25!!
That’s 3 necklaces, 3 earring sets, and a bracelet.
I pulled out my kit a couple of nights ago when I was watching Netflix with the hubs and got to work.
All the pieces, the tool, and directions were included.
I put together a necklace and bracelet in no time. I’m excited to make more (can we say Christmas gift?)!
These jewelry kits would make GREAT gifts. You can either put the jewelry together yourself and give the finished pieces (maybe keeping one or two for yourself) OR you could just purchase the kit as the gift.
Prima Beads is the go to shop for all of your jewelry making needs!
Check out their other products on their site and “like” their Facebook page.
This post was sponsored by Prima Beads. I was provided the jewelry kit to review. All opinions are my own.
