Tips for Organizing Christmas

Hi everyone! Michele from The Scrap Shoppe here with a new theme for our crafty series for December.
This month we are discussing all things ORGANIZATION! And since we’re still in the beginning of December, I thought we could discuss organizing Christmas.

I love making lists and, even more so, marking things off of them when they are complete! Years go I made a Christmas Planner and it was such a big help during the holidays. I even have a blank (free) December calendar printable that you can use for keeping December straight, marking holiday parties, when and where to gift shop, or even to keep up with the antics of your Elf on the Shelf (which is what I use it for).

Stay organized this December with this round up of adorable and USEFUL Christmas Planner FREE Printables!
I have rounded up some great printables to help you stay organized all December long! Many of these are offered as both 8.5×11 sheets as well as the smaller A5 paper size for small binders. Print the set that most suits you or mix and match to be sure you get everything you need.

DIY Planner Cover

Hello friends! I’m stopping by today to share my adorable DIY Planner Cover with you!

planner cover2

If you know me at all then you know I am a planner and a list writer. Multiple lists, multiple calendars. It’s my thing. I have a planner that is just for homeschool (which I adore and you can find it for sale via @homeeducator on Instagram), our family wall calendar (it’s dry erase), my iphone calendar, and then my daily (paper) calendar. I am SUPER picky about planners. SUPER. I’ve only found one daily planner that I truly truly love (same goes with my homeschool planner) but the designer (my cute friend Emmy) stopped making them to focus her time elsewhere. You can imagine how excited I was to find out that @itsjustemmy was planning on selling her planners again!! Insert: happy dance. As soon as it arrived, I broke out my paper crafting supplies and started decorating my planner cover. You can find a great tutorial on Emmy’s blog HERE. Super easy!

I went through my paper stash and got to work. I traced the cover on a piece of floral scrapbook paper and cut it out carefully. Then I cut a 2 inch strip out of pink glitter paper to overlay. I used double sided photo tape to adhere everything. Then I busted out the fun stickers…

I love how it turned out and I can’t wait to start filling it in. I even started adding stickers and things to the inside…

I love that I can personalize my own cover… or that it’s cute enough to just leave black and white!

Head on over to Emmy’s shop to get your planner… once they are gone, they are GONE!

This is NOT a sponsored post. I just really love this planner and my awesome friend Emmy. I only share products and shops that I love and that I think my readers will love too.

Fancy Paperclip Bookmarks

Hey friends!

Did you have a good weekend? My dad fixed the air conditioner in my car so we had a GREAT weekend. NEVER take your vehicle’s ac for granted. Never EVER. It’s pretty much in my top 5 things to be most thankful for. What did you guys do over the weekend?

I also organized a bit over the weekend. I added to my August calendars (yes…that was supposed to be plural), worked on meal planning, made a list of the projects I am going to knock out this week, and planned out our first unit for homeschool (that we are starting today…wish us luck!).

I do love to be organized…but there are few things I do to make planning and organizing more fun (nerd alert!). If I think it’s fun, I’m more apt to stick with it. Here are some of the things I do that maybe you already do or maybe you’ll want to try to make organizing more fun for YOU

-Get a pretty planner to keep with you at all times

(I recommend Much Ado About You planners. Honestly my favorite planner EVER).

-Use colorful pens

(I like the thin Sharpies)

-Washi tape important events

(I got my washi from Target but you can order it online and get it at most craft stores)

-Bookmark pages in your planner so you can flip to them easily

(I like to make pretty bookmarks)

Speaking of pretty bookmarks, did you see the adorable Button Bookmarks that Jamielyn from I Heart Nap Time made? Jamielyn’s bookmarks actually inspired the bookmarks I am going to share with you today…

Supplies:

-paper clips

-paper flowers

-rhinestones

-baker’s twine

-washi tape

-felt

-scissors

-glue gun and glue sticks

I used supplies I already had. I highly suggest looking through your craft and scrapbooking stash to see if you can find anything to dress up those paper clips.

The steps are pretty simple…

For the baker’s twine bow bookmarks, I simply tied a bow (knotting it first) and trimmed the ends.

For the washi tape bookmarks, I trimmed down the tape and wrapped it around the top of the paperclip. Then I just trimmed up the end with my scissors.

And for the paper flower bookmarks, I layered the paper flowers and glued with hot glue. I glued a small piece of felt on the back to hold the flower in place.

So cute, right?

Now my bookmarks feel so fancy…especially in my adorable Much Ado About You planner.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you have fun organizing this week.
