Buffalo Plaid Glitter Deer Head

Hello makers! If you haven’t noticed I’m on a buffalo plaid kick this Christmas and I’m excited to show you what I’ve crafted up with it this time. How fun is this Buffalo Plaid Glitter Deer Head?! I’m not bit on the real deer heads up in my home for decor, but I’ll take a glittery paper machete one any day!

This cute guy was inexpensive and pretty simple to make. You just need a few things to make one for yourself…

I had the Mod Podge, black paint, gold glitter, scissors and paint brushes on hand, but you can find them at any craft supply store. I bought the paper machete deer head and the buffalo plaid paper at Hobby Lobby.

First you want to carefully separate the deer head from the plaque. Then paint the outside and edges with black paint and allow it to dry.

Next you want to paint the deer head with Mod Podge and sprinkle with glitter and also allow time to dry.

After your black paint is dry, trace the plaque one the buffalo plaid paper. Cut it out a little smaller than the tracing so it can fit inside the lip. Then you are going to either glue or Mod Podge the paper to the center of the plaque and allow dry time.

Now all you have to do is glue the deer head back onto the center of the plaque and you’re done! Isn’t he so pretty?! I just love him.

I hope y’all have a great weekend!! See you next week with more Christmas fun.

Buffalo Plaid Winter Wreath

Hello and happy turkey week! Since I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I have plenty of time to do one of my most favorite things… Christmas craft! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you saw a sneak peek. I cannot wait to show you my Buffalo Plaid Winter Wreath!

Isn’t it the cutest wreath ever?! I absolutely love it so much! If you love the rustic, buffalo plaid trend, then this wreath is perfect for you too.

All supplies besides the mini trees were purchased from Michael’s Stores and the mini trees are from Target’s dollar spot.

The wreath was really simple to make… Just hot glue all of the items onto your wreath where you want them!

The arrow sign was an ornament… to the LODGE!

And the mini red truck is part of figurines from a mini Christmas scene…

How adorable is the baby deer?! I just love her…

This Buffalo Plaid Winter Wreath makes me feel so cozy and totally ready for Christmas. I really love the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

Three Popular Christmas Decorating Trends

Hello friends! Welcome to another week of Must Have Craft Tips! Kara from Mine for the Making here this week to share three popular Christmas decorating trends you are going to love! Now don’t get me wrong… I don’t ever skip over Thanksgiving. Who could skip over the best meal of the year?! But I definitely don’t mind having my turkey dinner by the tree. And even if you don’t like to decorate as early as I do, you can pin and save these ideas until you are ready to decorate.

The first Christmas trend and one of my personal favorites is Buffalo Plaid. In fact, be ready for a few buffalo plaid inspired Christmas projects on Mine for the Making soon! But in the meantime… check out these beautiful ways to decorate with the popular plaid of buffalo.

How fun is this Buffalo Plaid Hot Cocoa Bar?! It’s so festive and pretty. I love the combo of plaid and gold.

I love these Buffalo Plaid pillows made from blankets! So cozy and cute.

There are a ton of Buffalo Plaid printables floating around cyberspace. This Baby It’s Warm Inside print is one of my favorites!

My other very favorite Christmas decor trend is the gorgeous farmhouse Christmas style. I love the hints of rustic and weathered and vintage.

I am so in love with this rustic Coca-Cola crate look! Stack them up and set a Christmas tree inside and you’ve got an adorable farmhouse look.

How gorgeous are these farmhouse Christmas stairs. I love the giant wooden letters and the old vintage books.

This chippy, old, mint door on the wall behind the tiny Christmas tree gives me all the heart eyes. If this doesn’t scream farmhouse Christmas, I don’t know what does.

And last but definitely not least, let’s have ourselves a BRIGHT Christmas, shall we?! This is far from traditional Christmas decor, but lovely just the same.
