Hey there y’all!
Have you noticed the really fun looking leggings stores and boutiques are carrying? Fun prints, patterns, and colors. My little girl LOVES leggings and will choose them over jean pants any day. I mean…they’re just so comfy so I can’t blame her! Today I am going to share a quick and easy way to turn plain leggings into fashionable ones! Check out these hand painted little girl leggings I made for my 5 year old!
Are you ready to make your own?
Have your child put the leggings on so you can mark where their knees are when wearing the leggings (mark with a sticker or safety pin). Carefully slip them off of your kiddo.
Place strips of cardboard into the legs of the leggings to prevent any paint from bleeding.
Using your scissors, cut out two small squares of freezer paper that will fit over where your child’s knees are in the leggings.
Fold the squares in half and cut a heart out of each.
Iron the heart freezer paper stencil onto the knees of the leggings.
Carefully sponge brush the fabric paint onto the knees of the leggings. I did several coats of paint to be sure it would show up on the black leggings.
Allow dry time. I even hit it with my blow drier to “set” the paint. Pull out the cardboard and they are ready to wear!
When washing, I suggest washing them inside out.
So what do you think? Would your little lady like some hand painted little girl leggings this fall? Let me know if you decide to make them…and you can even post a picture on my Facebook wall so that I can share it!
