Christmas Movie Quote Mugs

Hey there makers! Can you believe November is already half over? I packed up Halloween last weekend and busted out Christmas bins. I’ve always decorated for Christmas in November… I love having my Christmas decor up as long as possible and I love having Thanksgiving dinner by a lit tree. Call me crazy or be apart of my crazy, I’m okay with both! Of course I’ve started my holiday crafting and whipped up a couple of cute coffee cups that would be great as gifts or great to keep for yourself. And because I’m crafting while watching my fave holiday movies, it’s only natural that the Christmas Movie Quote Mugs came out of the craft room this week!

Aren’t they fun?! Do you know what Christmas movies these quotes are from? Two of my favorites!

I picked up a couple of blank mugs from Dollar Tree and got to work on some fun designs in the Silhouette design studio. I used some of my Expressions Vinyl I had on hand, and cut the quotes out with my Silhouette Cameo. After weeding the design, I applied the vinyl quotes to the mugs with transfer tape. And that’s it!

Of course these mugs are great for coffee, hot chocolate, and hot cider. You can even fill them up with a couple of packets of hot chocolate or some holiday candies and give these mugs as gifts to teachers, co-workers, friends, coaches, neighbors, etc.

If you like the Christmas movie quotes I chose, you can download these free cut files to make your own mugs! Or get creative and pick quotes for YOUR favorite Christmas movies! The options are endless.

Be sure to hand wash these mugs as they are not dishwasher safe with the vinyl on them. We want them to last for lots of Christmases to come!

Have you started your holiday crafting or gift making yet? I would love to see your mugs if you decide to make some! Thanks for stopping by, friends. Have a great weekend.

Gagets and Tools Gift Guide

This post contains affiliate links. Please refer to our policies for more information.

Happy Friday everyone! There are only 9 Fridays left, including today, until Christmas! SAY WHAT?! It’s Allison here this week with more gift ideas for you to help you do a little shopping so you can be done well before Christmas. This gadgets and tools gift guide is full of products we love that we use in our home.

I’ll start in the kitchen with a few things we really like.

Make veggie pasta with a Veggetti Spiral Vegetable Slicer. There are larger systems out there but this one works great and takes up much less room than a large machine.

I think Instant Pots are the latest rage but it really is a fabulous appliance you should have in your kitchen. It makes things so fast but I also love the slow cooker option.

My husband loves avocados, and he loves having an avocado slicer. This one has a knife, a spot to get out the pit, plus the slicer. It makes it that much faster to enjoy that avocado.

Have some that loves to cook? How about getting them a unique chef knife? You can even get it engraved! Don’t have anyone that would like a chef knife? AIM Blades has hatchets, smaller knives, axes and more and all of them can be personalized.

Leaving the kitchen and moving towards some tools or other things we love.

Have small kids, own a small business, involved in sports, or go camping a lot? This Collapsible Utility Wagon from Mac Sports is perfect or all of those! This wagon is sturdy, folds up nicely for travel, and the wheels are great. There is even a more heavy duty option with bigger wheels for rougher use.

We do a TON of house and other diy projects in my house and I love having a paint sprayer to get the job done more efficiently. This sprayer from Home Right works amazingly.

My husband has one of these Leatherman Multi-tool and it lives on his belt. I even have a mini version I carry around in my purse. It has so many tools on it that it can help you with all your needs. So handy!

This Little Giant Ladder is far from little! It is heavy duty, sturdy and meets all your ladder needs. Painting on a stairway? You can adjust the ladder to be uneven and placed on multiple steps to help you reach what you need. Flip it all the way open and make it one long extension ladder, it can help you with any of your ladder needs.

Someone in your life enjoy building furniture or cabinets? The Pocket Hole Jig from Kreg is the best tool to give them to help hide all those screws.

What are some of your favorite tools or gadgets that would make a perfect gift? Stay tuned next week for more gift ideas to help get your holiday shopping complete.

Free Christmas Gift List Printables

Hello! It’s Bev here for our Must Have Craft Tips post – and we’re working on organization this month! One of the areas I really need to work on in December is gift tracking. I have the hardest time remembering what I’ve given from one year to the next!

If you’re in the same boat – I have some great tips this week for organizing and keeping track of gifts!

1 – Organize who you are buying for. It’s tough to shop and find the right thing if you don’t go in with a list of recipients. It’s so easy to get caught up in the fun of buying, and forget to get something for everyone on your list! Don’t forget to mark off when they are wrapped too!

2 – Make it easy to take your list with you! Finding cute gift lists to fit in your planner is a great way to keep track of what you’ve bought so you don’t repeat gifts, or overbuy either! It’s also a great way to make sure you don’t lose the list! :)

3 – Don’t forget stocking stuffers! (something I always leave until the last minute!) If you’ve got a handy printable you can check items off as your out shopping and get it finished early.

4 – Stay on budget! Keeping track of what you’re buying lets you know when you’ve reached the budget for each person.

5 – Don’t lose those online orders. With all the online shopping we do, it’s sometimes tricky to keep track of what we’ve ordered, and from where! This handy printable gives you a place to keep track of what you’ve ordered and when it’s arriving!

6 – Don’t forget about Handmade Gifts! These cute printables keep gift ideas handy and give you a spot for listing supplies you need too!

7 – Find just the right gift! If you’re not sure what to buy, this cute little Gift Wish list is a great way to get ideas! I love that it’s more than just a list of things they want, it’s a great way to get to know their likes and activities, so you can really get creative!

Free Christmas Wish List printable! In addition to things that the kids want, this wish list includes a list of favorites to think about for gift giving. My kids had a blast filling these out and I got lots of great ideas! To download the PDF go to http://rbstoutfamily.blogspot.com/2013/11/christmas-wish-list-and-kids-letter-to.html Enjoy!:

8 – Don’t forget to say Thanks! This Christmas Gift Received List is a great way to keep track of who received what, and if you’ve sent out thank you notes! This is especially great if you have big families opening gifts all at once. It can be a little tough to remember who gave what!

Easy and Personal Holiday Gift Ideas

Hello makers! I’m blogging at you from beautiful, sunny California and I couldn’t be more thankful. Our family recently sold our home, down sized, and we are now RV living while we buy land and build our next home. Needless to say, the past couple of months have been a whirlwind and I have BIG TIME slacked on making and shopping for gifts this year. Usually I’m finished back in October, but life got super busy this year. Do you know the feeling? Well, I’m here with a few Easy and Personal Holiday Gifts Ideas that won’t break your bank and won’t take up too much of your time to create.

staples christmas6

Staples Copy and Print makes it easy for consumers to do more for less this holiday season with personalized gifts at great prices. Plus, they offer a variety of designs in personalized holiday cards and photo gifts. Photos are my favorite and incorporating them into gifts is such a great way to personalize gifts.

Items like ornaments, mouse pads, pillows, calendars, cell phone cases, coffee mugs, t-shirts… they can all be personalized with your favorite photos from throughout the year and sent to someone special!

staples christmas3

It only takes a few minutes with Staples Copy & Print services. You design, order, and pay for your gifts online right from the comfort of your own home or even at work on your lunch break! Staples ships most of the items right to you!

Wouldn’t it be fun to surprise a friend or family member with an ornament that has photos on it of something fun they did that year? Or maybe a cell phone case! Just hop over to their Facebook or Instagram pages to grab a few of their photos from throughout the year! Save them to your computer and upload them to Staples Copy and Print website.

The Staples Copy and Print site is very user-friendly and it took me all of 30 minutes to create 2 personalized gifts and my annual family Christmas cards. Painted Pencil Name Sign

It’s time to show those teachers how much we appreciate them! Can you believe the end of the school year is already upon us? Some of you might be like “wait… but you’re a homeschooler!” Yes, but we also have Art, Music, Theater, Cooking Class, and Soccer. Lots of teachers and coaches to show our appreciation to! Today I am sharing a simple DIY project that your child can help with. This handmade Painted Pencil Name Sign is sure to make that special teacher smile!

painted pencil7

I used an 18 inch fence slat and cut one end into a point with my saw. Then I sanded the piece of wood until it was smooth.

painted pencil5

Next I set up a paint pallet for my daughter complete with her art apron and plenty of paint brushes. I let her paint the entire pencil, and I went back after to touch up spots and straighten a few lines.

painted pencil2

Once the paint dried, I gave my daughter a black Sharpie and she wrote her Art Teacher’s name in the center(ish) of the sign. I love little kids’ handwriting and I think it gives this gift such a special touch.

painted pencil4

After, we flipped the sign over and stamped it with my awesome Laura Kelly self-inking stamp from Expressionery. LOVE it and I use it on all my signs now.

painted pencil6

painted pencil8

Last, we pulled out our Me and My Peeps Laura Kelly notepad from Expressionery and my daughter wrote a thank you note to her teacher to attach to the pencil sign with baker’s twine. Isn’t it the cutest notepad?! I personalized it to match our family. Love.

painted pencil3

Right now you can get 30% off sitewide at Expressionery using the coupon code TEACHERAPP at checkout (valid 4/25/15-5/25/15).

painted pencil1

You can also enter to win a self-inking stamp and set of small notepads from Expressionery! How fun is that?! Good luck friends and let me know if you make a Painted Pencil Name Sign for your awesome teachers this year!
